Melee, Profight and Club Shootout Rules

  • Medieval Combat Sports League Rules

MCSL Melee Rules

  • Standard teams will be 7vs7 with 10 person rosters. 7 on the field, 3 alternates off the field.
  • Sustitutes to the lineup are allowed between rounds of the match.
  • Each team will have a team flag on their side of the field, in a flag holder.
  • The round ends when one of these happens:
    • 1)The round goes the full 5 minutes. Standing fighters of each team are counted for points + any flag movement points for each team.
    • 2)A team posesses both teams flags, in their flag holder, on their side of the field. When this happens, the round is over, no matter how many fighters from the opposing team are still standing. Standing fighters+flag movement points are added up
    • 3) If there is a team advantage of 3 or more fighters vs. 1 fighter, UNLESS
      • a)the 1 (outnumbered) fighter has possession of the opposing teams flag and is making forward progress towards his side of the field to place the opposing teams flag by his teams flag for the win.
      • b) if the outnumbered fighter’s forward progress is stopped while attempting to bring the opposing teams flag to his flag holder, the round is over.
      • c) if the outnumbered fighter successfully brings the opposing teams flag to his side and places it in his teams flag holder, with his teams flag in the flag holder as well, the round is over and the outnumbered fighter wins the round for his team.
      • d) if the outnumbered fighters team flag is taken from their flag holder, no matter if he is making forward progress, the round is over.

Points:

  • 1 point per fighter still standing at the end of the round.
  • 2 points for stopping the opposing team with your teams flag. (opposing team has your flag, and you eliminate the fighter with the flag, or get the fighter to drop the flag)
  • 3 points for returning your flag to your teams flag holder. (only if the opposing team took the flag from your side, and they didnt make it back to their side with it)
  • 5 points for getting the opposing teams flag and bringing it back to your side, and placing it with your flag. (Must posess both flags at your teams flagholder)

No matter the scenario, at the end of each round Standing fighters+flag movement points are added up. Matches are 3 rounds. Points are totaled for each side at the end of 3 rounds. THIS IS BASED ON TOTAL POINTS, NOT NUMBER OF FIGHTERS STANDING AT THE END OF THE ROUND! EXAMPLE: Team A has 4 fighters standing at the end of the round. Team B, 1 fighter, but captured the opposing teams flag and returned it to his side, with his teams flag still there (posesses both flags in their flag holder)..Team B wins! Team A 4 points for 4 fighters standing = 4 total pointsTeam B 1 point for 1 fighter standing + 5 points for capturing the flag = 6 points
